Best Brewco EVER! Bling Pig is was one of Nate & Corey's favorite breweries. Their ales were very distinctive, and their English Style Ale and IPA were absolutely phenomenal. And they were the first to produce a "Double IPA", inciting many to follow: Stone, Marin, Moylan's, and Rogue...and everyone else for that matter.
Sadly, they closed their doors in 1998. As an interesting historical aside,it turns out most of their brews were bottled by North Coast Brewing.
Blind Pig's original brewer, Vinnie Cilurzo (a god among men) is also the brewer of the Russian River ales. I stopped by Korbel (the original owner of the brand) a few weeks ago, hoping to tour the brewing facilities, but I was told that Vinnie bought the brand and was moving production to Santa Rosa.
